The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders Association, founded in 1991, is a community organization composed of Wintergreen Mountain property owners living full or part-time on the Wintergreen Mountain.
The MHA's objectives are to:
Promote friendship and fellowship among Mountain Homesteader members.
Represent the interests of Mountain Homesteader members to the Wintergreen Property Owners Association and Wintergreen Resort.
Work with all community organizations to maintain and improve the quality of life on Wintergreen Mountain.
The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders Association is registered as a federal tax-exempt social club under IRS section 501(c)(7). Donations and dues are not tax deductible.
The Mountain Homesteader Association organizes social gatherings throughout the year. Our members enjoy the company of fellow mountain residents, delicious food and tasty libations. Congratulations go to those hardy souls who braved wintry conditions to compete in Trivia Night on January 17th.

Membership in the Mountain Homesteaders costs $25 per household per year, and is restricted to owners of property located on Wintergreen Mountain. The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders support a local school, Tye River Elementary, as our community outreach program. Each year we collect donations to buy school supplies for the new school year in August, and winter clothing in October before the weather gets cold. These are given to the children of Tye River.
